The Board of Supervisors routinely adopts proclamations recognizing special events, community service, and meritorious achievements.

Summary of Request

Leadership Mendocino is an ongoing program that promotes knowledgeable citizenship, community involvement, and local leadership among interested residents of Mendocino County.  Community members apply to participate in a series of class sessions that blends training on leadership and project coordination skills through focused presentations on business, agriculture, government services, criminal justice and human services systems, and local communities.  Participants may come from all backgrounds, ages, and parts of our county, but they share a common interest in the place where they live and have a strong desire to contribute to their communities.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not adopt the Proclamation, and identify other means of recognizing the Leadership Mendocino Class XXIV.
