Summary of Request:
DOT Agreement No. 170008 provides for preliminary engineering and design work, including environmental studies, plans, specifications, and estimate, needed for the Usal Creek Bridge Replacement on Usal Road. DHA has agreed to perform the required work for a not-to-exceed amount of $852,965. Costs of the project are to be funded primarily through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Highway Bridge Program (HBP), with the local match covered through Toll Credits. Future amendments for additional work will be determined based on supplemental funding from FHWA. DOT believes it is prudent to begin work with the existing funds from FHWA Allocation No. 1 in the amount of $554,500, followed by Allocation No. 2 in the amount of $298,465, upon receiving confirmation of the additional grant funding. DOT also believes it would be expedient to request a 10% contingency in the amount of $85,000, in order to facilitate timely completion of the work.
