Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

On June 7, 2016, the Board of Supervisors approved an outdoor festival application for the Kate Wolf Music Festival.                     

 

Summary of Request

Pursuant to Mendocino County Code 6.16 approve the application for the Kate Wolf Music Festival, sponsored by Back Roads Productions, LLC, to be held June 22-25, 2017; and authorize the Tax Collector to issue an Outdoor Festival license.

 

The Kate Wolf Music Festival includes camping, live music, and provisions for food and alcohol vendors.  The event will be held at Black Oak Ranch in Laytonville, the principal location being 50350 Highway 101 in Laytonville, California.  The event may draw up to 4,000 attendees including staff and performers (over the course of the weekend).

 

The Tax Collector has compiled the information required to be submitted with the application, attached to the agenda for reference, and after finding it to be complete, submits the application to the Board for approval pursuant to section 6.16.040 of the Mendocino County code.  The attached documentation contains; written consent from property owners for the proposed use; proof of ownership of the property where the festival will be held; a statement from the Sheriff attesting to the adequacy of proposed security; a statement from the County Health Officer attesting to the adequacy of proposed sanitation, food preparation and handing, and waste disposal; and, further documentation required with the application.
