Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board has previously authorized, by Resolution, the Director and Assistant Director to execute for, and on behalf of, the County of Mendocino any actions necessary for the administration of the Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG). The last approval was for fiscal year 2016. Resolution 16-087.

Summary of Request

The Emergency Management Performance Grant is pass-through funding from the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) to the State of California Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) and down to the individual Operational Areas.  Currently the Emergency Management Performance Grant requires a dollar for dollar (100%) local match of funds.  Funding is used to support activities that contribute to Mendocino County’s capability to prevent, prepare for, mitigate against, respond to and recover from emergencies and disasters, whether natural or man-made.  The grant requires a certified copy of the Board of Supervisors Resolution appointing agents authorized to execute any actions necessary under this Grant with the Emergency Management Performance Grant application.
