Summary of Request:
In Mendocino County, the placement and care of children who have been removed from the custody of their parents or guardians under Welfare and Institutions Code Section 300 is the responsibility of the Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), Family and Children’s Services (FCS). As part of meeting this requirement, FCS contracts with Tapestry Family Services (TFS) for the provision of emergency foster home placement services to youth in Mendocino County.
TFS is a licensed Foster Family Agency, and will provide home-based placements for children from birth to eighteen years of age who are in need of immediate, emergency foster care placement. TFS will provide at least three on-call homes (at least six combined total beds) each month that are ready to receive immediate, emergency placements.
Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) submitted this Agreement and a second Agreement for approval by the Board of Supervisors on June 18, 2019. The June 18th agenda item was rejected because the Agreements could not be combined onto one agenda item. This process necessitated a retroactive start date.
