RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve retroactive Agreement with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center in the amount of $68,957 to provide services to severely mentally ill clients on the Mendocino Coast through the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Grant for the period of July 1, 2019 through June 30, 2020; authorize the Health and Human Service Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Health and Human Services Agency, Behavioral Health and Recovery Services receives funds from the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) through the Mental Health Services Block Grant (MHBG), which is administered by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS). The MHBG funds mental health services for adults with serious mental illness and children with serious emotional disturbance. The funds may also be used to decrease homelessness and improve the health, wellbeing, and self-sufficiency of homeless people who have co-occurring disorders (both mental health and a substance abuse problem).
