Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On March 19, 2019, the Board of Supervisors heard a proposal for the creation of a Mendocino County Climate Action Advisory Committee (MCCAAC) and endorsed the proposal in concept with direction to staff to schedule a workshop/presentation on the structure and formation of the MCCAAC; On April 16, 2019 the Board considered a proposal on the structure and formation of the MCCAAC and directed staff to prepare a resolution incorporating the elements of the proposal and forming the MCCAAC; On May 7, 2019 the Board considered a resolution creating the MCCAAC and directed staff to revise the resolution to clearly incorporate the elements of the proposal considered on April 16, further appointing Supervisors McCowen and Williams as an Ad Hoc Committee to work with County Counsel on the revised Resolution.
Summary of Request:
The attached Resolution creates the Mendocino County Climate Action Advisory Committee, which shall make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on implementation of a Mendocino County Sustainability and Climate Action Program and clarifies that it shall do so in alignment with the document entitled Proposal for a Citizen-Driven Structure for the Mendocino County Climate Action Advisory Committee. The document has been revised to incorporate additional changes directed by the Board and is included as an attachment.
