Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On August 20, 2019, the Board directed County Counsel to prepare an ordinance replacing the County’s Columbus Day holiday with Indigenous People’s Day and make any necessary corrections. Intro and Waive First Reading of this Ordinance was on August 27, 2019.
Summary of Request:
The proposed ordinance would amend Section 3.04.190 of the Mendocino County Code in order to replace the Columbus Day holiday with Indigenous Peoples’ Day. It would also make one small correction to section 3.04.190(A) by replacing “Martin Luther King Day” with “Martin Luther King Jr. Day.”
