SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On July 11, 2017, the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved the grant Agreement with California Department of Health Care Services (CDHCS) in the amount of $400,000 to implement the Strategic Prevention Framework Partnerships for Success Strategies (SPF PFS) relating to Opioid Abuse Prevention from July 1, 2017 through June 30, 2021. Grant funds are used for preventing opioid abuse, especially among youth and underserved populations, as well as in the general population.

On September 12, 2017, the BOS approved the revised grant agreement for SPF PFS, including a revised budget with increased funds for Public Awareness. These extra funds will be used through this contract with Mendocino County Youth Project (MCYP). MCYP has participated in PFS grant activities in previous years and is already uniquely positioned inside schools to continue to provide prevention services ...
