PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On July 9, 2019 and August 27, 2019, the Board of Supervisors received presentations from PG&E on Public Safety Power Shut Off (PSPS). On August 6, 2019, the Board of Supervisors approved transmission of a letter to PG&E regarding PSPS. On August 20, 2019, the Board of Supervisors received a presentation from the California Public Utility Commission (CPUC) regarding PSPS. Additionally, staff provided regular reports regarding PSPS to the Board of Supervisors throughout the months of July through September, 2019.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County of Mendocino experienced multiple public safety power shut off (PSPS) events over the past three weeks. These events were very dynamic, and the County was dependent on PG&E to provide accurate, updated information that can be shared with the public. During the October 26 and 29 event PG&E failed to provide accurate and timely information to the county on the county-wide outages. CEO Carmel Angelo will debrief the Board on the issues the County faced during all three events.
