Approve Social Work Agreement with Humboldt State University (HSU) in the amount of $0 to allow University interns to be placed at MCSO in the Inmate Services Program to gain experience towards their undergraduate and Masters in Social Work (MSW) degrees, effective when Agreement becomes fully executed through October 14, 2024; authorize the Sheriff to sign future amendments that do not affect the amount of the Agreement; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The MCSO Inmate Services Program is seeking a five (5) year Social Work Agreement with Humboldt State University, Department of Social Work, to allow undergraduate and masters in social work (MSW) students the ability to intern at the Mendocino County Jail. The Inmate Services Program Manager will identify and interview potential interns in collaboration with the University while adhering to all clearance and policy and procedures set forth by MCSO and the County. In our efforts to reduce recidivism and reintegrate criminal justice clients into society, it is essential that we offer high quality programming and service delivery.
