SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On September 15, 2009, after formation of the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), the Board of Supervisors approved a joint request of HHSA and the Public Health Advisory Board to create the HHSA Advisory Board. The Board of Supervisors approved revised bylaws and appointed the seated members of the Public Health Advisory Board, who unanimously approved the new bylaws.

The HHSA Advisory Board presents to the Board of Supervisors today in fulfillment of its ongoing mission, which is to advise HHSA and the Board of Supervisors in order to:
* promote health and wellness
* promote individual and community responsibility for health
* reduce environmental health hazards
* facilitate coordination and integration of community services
* support and empower individuals and families to live health, safe, and sustainable lives
* educate the community on current and emerging health and social services issues
