August 15, 2017, Board presentation; September 19, 2017, Board presentation; October 16, 2018, Presentation by the Executive Office and the Health and Human Services Agency regarding various Local Emergency Medical Services Agency Models.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
On October 16, 2018, in light of the fire emergencies Mendocino County experienced in the previous two years, the Executive Office and the Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) presented to the Board of Supervisors on various Local Emergency Medical Services Agency (LEMSA) models in order to facilitate a discussion about the County's existing model. That presentation included an overview of County and LEMSA roles and responsibilities as well as a review of LEMSA options available to Mendocino County.
Pursuant to Board direction, HHSA is returning to the Board to provide an update. Updates include an overview of the LEMSA contract with Sonoma County, investigation of other regional LEMSA models, and development of key positions necessary for a single county LEMSA model.
