Summary of Request

We are dealing with a crisis where all resources need to be focused on handling essential county business. Each agenda item takes staff time and energy getting the agenda item ready, uses valuable Board of Supervisor meeting time, and requires resources for the implementation of the agreed upon action. Virtual meetings are limiting the public's ability to provide meaningful input in the decision making process. Unless the item is of critical importance to the workings of the county, response to the COVID-19 crisis, or is of a non-controversial nature that it can be dealt with on the consent calendar, the Board of Supervisors should postpone all other decisions until a later date and allow all efforts to be directed toward public safety and public health.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not suspend non-essential, regular calendar business.
