Summary of Request

Annually, for the past 27 years the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors, at the request of the District Attorney and the Victim Witness Assistance Program, has joined together for a Proclamation designating a week during April as Crime Victims’ Rights Week. This year Crime Victims’ Rights Week is from April 19 through April 25, 2020. The Proclamation recognizes the traumatic intrusion of crime on crime victims’ lives and the need to protect the rights of crime victims. The Proclamation acknowledges the necessity for the existence of Crime Victims’ Assistance Programs. The Mendocino County District Attorney’s Victim Witness Assistance Program provides victims’ services to crime victims throughout the County of Mendocino.
