Approve Agreement with Tapestry Family Services in the amount of $62,100 to provide immediate emergency placement services for foster children placed by the Health and Human Services Agency, Family and Children’s Services for the period of July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Director or designee to sign any future amendments that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

Summary of Request

In Mendocino County, the placement and care of children who have been removed from the custody of their parents or guardians under Welfare and Institutions Code Section 300 is the responsibility of the Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency/Family and Children’s Services (FCS). As part of meeting this requirement, FCS contracts with Tapestry Family Services (TFS) for the provision of emergency foster home placement services to youth in Mendocino County.

 

TFS is a licensed Foster Family Agency, and will provide home-based placements for children from birth to eighteen years of age who are in need of immediate, emergency foster care placement. TFS will provide at least three on-call homes (at least six combined total beds) each month that are ready to receive immediate, emergency placements.
