Authorize contract award to Fort Bragg Electric in the amount of $249,926 for the Sheriff’s Office Underground Fiber Project, effective May 5, 2020 through November 25, 2020, and authorize Chair to sign same, further authorize the Facilities and Fleet Division Manager to act as Project Manager to enter contracts and approve change orders for the project, pursuant to Public Contract Code section 20142.

Summary of Request

Sheriff’s Office Structured Cabling and Underground Fiber Project was created in the Capital Improvement 1710 Budget Unit to complete the IT Master Plan Project previously approved as part of that budget unit. Plans were developed and bids were first received for this project on October 29, 2019. At that time all bids exceeded the available funding. The project was re-bid on March 12, 2020 removing the interior cabling. The Information Services and Facilities and Fleet Divisions of the Executive Office recommend award to the low bidder, Fort Bragg Electric in the amount of $249,926 for the Underground Fiber Optic Cabling to the Sheriff’s Office.
