Summary of Request:
In response to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, Community Foundation of Mendocino County has established a COVID-19 Relief Fund to provide basic needs to adversely impacted individuals, families, and organizations. The proposed Agreement supports Community Foundation’s efforts by providing additional funds through two separate funding streams - one for CalFresh Outreach and related services, and a second for federally reimbursable funding to supply food, water, and personal hygiene products. Community Foundation is uniquely positioned within the County and, therefore, is able to rapidly redistribute funding in the form of grants to local agencies. Approval of the Agreement will allow the most efficient and expeditious use of funds during the ongoing pandemic.
In order to cover possible costs associated with administrative support or food distribution in April, the Health and Human Services Agency, in coordination with the Executive Office, requests approval of a retroactive start date.
