Adopt Resolution accepting the State Air Resources Board (ARB) Community Air Protection Program Grant (G18-MCAP-25) in the amount of $138,194.45 for implementation of the Community Air Protection Program (AB 617) for the term of April 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022; authorizing the Air Pollution Control Officer, as agent, to sign the grant agreement; and authorize Chair to sign same.

None directly related to this request. The Board routinely approves grant funding for the Air Quality Management District.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
In 2017, the Governor signed legislation aimed at improving neighborhood-level air quality as part of the state's Cap-and-Trade Program. AB 398 extended and improved the Cap-and-Trade Program which will provide billions of dollars in auction proceeds towards communities in California.
AB 617 established a new program, Community Air Protection Program (CAPP), to measure and reduce air pollution from mobile and stationary sources at the neighborhood level in the communities most impacted by air pollutants.
