Approval of the purchase of three vehicles in the amount of $96,423, including a Chrysler Voyager, Ford Edge, and a Dodge Durango with District Attorney Asset Forfeiture Fund 2110-760220 to replace three old high mileage vehicles as follows:

1)                     2004 Silver Dodge Durango purchased July 28, 2005 with Victim Witness grant funding to be replaced with Chrysler Voyager van for $29,247 to transports victims and/or witnesses.

2)                     2009 White Ford Escape Hybrid model with mechanical issues where batteries that will need to be replaced soon, which is very expensive; vehicle was purchased with Asset Forfeiture funds to be replaced with Dodge Durango for $34,166.

3)                     2006 Ford 500 purchased on November 7, 2005 with Asset Forfeiture funds during the Norman L. Vroman administration, currently being used by Fort Bragg attorney staff for District Attorney related business/trainings out of the area to be replaced with a Ford AWD Edge SE for $33,010.

The District Attorney is seeking Board of Supervisor’s approval of the purchase of three vehicles to replace three old, high mileage vehicles. The vehicle cost is estimated at $96,423 to be funded with DA Asset Forfeiture Fund 2110-760220. The District Attorney is requesting the approval of associated appropriation transfer to District Attorney Budget Unit 2070 Revenue Accounts, line items 82-3310 in the amount of $96,423 and to line item 86-4370 in the amount of $96,423 and addition of item to County’s list of fixed assets.
