Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On December 17, 2019, the Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution Nos. 14-422 and 14-424, which, respectively: (1) certified the final environmental impact report (“Final EIR”) for the Mendocino County Integrated Wildlife Damage Management (“IWDM”) Program, and (2) adopted the IWDM Program as operated by the United States Department of Agriculture, Animal and Plant Health Inspection Services, Wildlife Services (“Wildlife Services”), as the program that will provide wildlife damage management services for Mendocino County.
Summary of Request:
Resolution No. 14-424 selected Wildlife Services and its IWDM Program as the program to provide wildlife damage management services for Mendocino County, and authorized the Agricultural Commissioner to return to the Board of Supervisors with the five-year cooperative agreement between the County and Wildlife Services for the IWDM Program, as well as the annual work plan for operation of the program.
Attached to this agenda packet are the cooperative agreement and work and financial plan for fiscal year 2020-2021 for the operation of the County’s IWDM Program. Approval of these agreements was specifically studied by the Final EIR approved in 2019 and the Wildlife Services IWDM Program was the program selected by the Board of Supervisors. Following execution of these documents, the County would again have an operative IWDM Program.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Not adopt resolution; provide direction to staff.
