Summary of Request:
California Department of Public Health (CDPH), Office of AIDS, works collaboratively with state and federal agencies, local health jurisdictions, universities, and community-based organizations to ensure that efforts to combat the HIV/AIDS epidemic are targeted and effective. CDPH contracts with Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), Public Health, to provide AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Assistance Program (PrEP-AP) enrollment services in Willits, Ukiah and Fort Bragg. With funding from the proposed Agreement, HHSA Public Health will provide Enrollment Workers to assist clients in navigating through the financial assistance programs for HIV and AIDS treatment. Enrollment Workers will assess clients’ eligibility for and assist with enrollment into other third party insurance coverages, provide outreach services to clients, and assess clients’ eligibility and assist with enrollment for medication manufacturer assistance programs.
HHSA Public Health received this Agreement via email in April 2020. Allocation of staff time to the COVID-19 response delayed processing of the Agreement and necessitated the retroactive start date.
