Summary of Request

The CESF grant was released on March 30, 2020 with a deadline for the application on May 29, 2020. Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO) received written permission from the CEO to apply per County Policy #25, Section One, Number 4 which allows the CEO to give permission to apply for grants when time constraints are present. This agenda summary is to ratify that process per County Policy #25. MCSO submitted the grant application within the timeframe and subsequently was granted $69,733. This agenda summary also asks permission to accept the funds for the procurement of personal protective equipment (PPE) items, aerosol disinfectants, inmate medical supplies, and thermometers. This will allow MCSO to fulfill the CESF program’s purpose of preventing, preparing for, and responding to COVID-19 and any future COVID-19 related health crisis events.
