By Resolution Number (No.) 11-093 (June 14, 2011) the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved Agreement No. 11-056/Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 110002 with Quincy Engineering Inc., for plans, specifications, and estimate bid package for replacement of the North State Street Bridge at Ackerman Creek, County Road (CR) 104, Milepost (MP) 0.97.
Summary of Request:
Mendocino County Department of Transportation (MCD0T), along with the Millview County Water District (Millview) have jointly written a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) that sets forth the joint and individual responsibilities of Millview and the County of Mendocino with regards to the replacement of the North State Street Bridge at Ackerman Creek, CR 104, MP 0.97. The purpose of this MOA is to ensure that Millview’s water main and associated features are in place concurrent with the replacement of the above mentioned bridge. MCD0T and Millview want to avoid any construction coordination problems and save on mobilization and administrative costs by working together, using the same consultants and contractors where possible, and avoiding duplication of effort. MCD0T would advertise and award the contract, coordinate the project with Millview, perform all construction engineering jointly with Millview, and obtain approval of the project from Millview for the portions of construction of the project related to Millview’s water main. Millview would bear all costs related to its utility elements of the project. MCD0T and Millview staff have prepared the proposed MOA and recommend approval of the Agreement.
