RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Hold the public hearing and adopt the Resolution authorizing Mendocino County to submit an Application to utilize Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) CARES Act funds to provide Microenterprise Financial Assistance and Small Grants to benefit, low and moderate-income households and provide assistance to mitigate the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
To expedite the use of CARES Act funds, the California Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) has allocated all funds to jurisdictions that are eligible to receive COVID-19 funding. As such, Mendocino County has been allocated $293,812 to provide assistance during the pandemic. This is a special short term grant, with a 12 month spending window, which has been designed to get funds out in the community quickly where they are needed most.
