Approve Agreement with Universal Protection Service, LP dba Allied Universal Security Services in the amount of $1,001,520 to provide security guard services for the Mendocino County Sheriff’s Office at the Mendocino County Courthouses for the term of November 13, 2020 through November 14, 2023, with the option to extend the Agreement for up to three additional one-year periods; authorize the Sheriff to sign future amendments that do not affect the total amount of the Agreement; and authorize Chair to sign the same.

Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
On November 7, 20217, the Board approved an agreement with First Security Services in the amount of $258,253 annually for the term of November 15, 2017 through November 14, 2020 to provide security guard services for Mendocino County Sherriff’s Office at the Mendocino County Courthouses.
Summary of Request:
On August 13, 2020 the Sheriff’s Office released a Request for Proposal (RFP) number SO-2020-002 for security services at the Mendocino County Courthouses located in Ukiah at 100 N. State St. and in Fort Bragg at 700 S. Franklin. The Sheriff’s Office requires a private contractor to provide perimeter security and screening services at these locations. This affords added security and safety for courthouse staff and the public that seeks to do business at these sites. Universal Protection Service, LP dba Allied Universal Security Services is the highest scoring bidder in that RFP.
Universal Protection Service, LP dba Allied Universal Security Services will provide five (5) uniformed security guards and one (1) on-site supervisor for forty-(40) hours weekly. Three (3) guards will be located at the Ukiah location and two (2) at the Fort Bragg location. The term of this Agreement shall be from November 13, 2020 to November 14, 2023, with the option to extend the Agreement for up to three additional one-year periods.
