PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Library fee amnesty periods have been approved annually since 2015.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County Library is currently providing curbside pickup for requested items and is not taking physical payments for fines and fees during the closure. The Library also is not providing print and copy service at this time. During the full and partial closure of the Library branches due to the COVID-19 response, the Library would like to provide the following services:

The Library is requesting approval to offer fee amnesty for item returns during limited services due to the COVID-19 response. Item due dates are extended and returned items are quarantined for a period of time before being checked in. The fee amnesty during this time would also help the community, many of whom may be struggling due to the economic recession.

Additionally, the Library would like to provide to the community the service of limited free printing until the County reaches the State's Tier 4 "Minimal" level which will allow for more public access to the libraries.
