Approve the Appropriation of fund balance available in Fund 1216, Sheriff's Special Projects, in the amount of $83,985, to account SP/862232 Law Enforcement Supply and Services to pay for emergency veterinary services (in the amount of $26,445.84) from VCA PetCare for K-9 Ruddick for the period of October 19, 2020 through November 10, 2020; and authorize Chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Board approves a number of necessary budget adjustments during the year, to enable departments access to the funds required to provide services to the public.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Sheriff's Special Projects Fund receives donations to be utilized to help provide services beyond those funded through the General Fund or grant programs. The K-9 program is one popular service that represents a large part of the donations to the fund. The current year budget does not allow the Sheriff to utilize the full amount of money in the fund, including a recent emergency veterinary bill in the amount of $26,445.84, that was paid from the Sheriff's operating funds in Budget Unit 2310.
