Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

The Board approves a number of necessary budget adjustments during the year, to enable departments access to the funds required to provide services to the public.

Summary of Request

The Sheriff’s Special Projects Fund receives donations to be utilized to help provide services beyond those funded through the General Fund or grant programs.  The K-9 program is one popular service that represents a large part of the donations to the fund.  The current year budget does not allow the Sheriff to utilize the full amount of money in the fund, including a recent emergency veterinary bill in the amount of $26,445.84, that was paid from the Sheriff’s operating funds in Budget Unit 2310.  We wish to appropriate the full amount of unappropriated fund balance in order to reimburse Budget Unit 2310, and provide access to funding for any additional costs which may arise and are appropriate expenditures of the Sheriff’s Special Projects Fund.
