Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

In January 2020, the Board of Supervisors referred the development of the 2021 Legislative Platform to the Board of Supervisors' General Government Standing Committee. On November 4, 2020, the General Government Standing Committee reviewed the 2021 Legislative Platform.                     

 

Summary of Request

Pursuant to County Policy No. 19, the Board of Supervisors adopts an annual Legislative Platform reflecting the County priorities for legislative advocacy, state and federal funding, and issues of interest to local government. The proposed Legislative Platform includes the following categories: disaster recovery, preparedness and resiliency, COVID-19, natural resources, economic and community development, health and human services, public safety and cannabis. The Executive Office request the Board review the proposed legislative priorities and adopt the 2021 Legislative Platform. In addition the Board will receive a legislative update regarding the upcoming 2021-22 legislative session.

Do not adopt the platform and provide alternative direction to staff.
