RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Authorize the allocation of fifty thousand dollars ($50,000) to the Mendocino County Inland Water and Power Commission (MCIWPC) to continue the work of the Potential Licensing Proposal for the Potter Valley Project and other related costs.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
On October 16, 2018, the Board of Supervisors approved the allocation of $25,000 to MCIWPC for the investigation and negotiation of potential acquisition of the Potter Valley Project. On May 14, 2019, the Board approved the allocation of $50,000 to MCIWPC for a feasibility study of a potential licensing proposal for the Potter Valley Project. On February 25, 2020 the Board of Supervisors authorized the allocation of twenty-five thousand dollars ($25,000) to the MCIWPC to continue the Feasibility Study of a Potential Licensing Proposal for the Potter Valley Project and other related costs.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Inland Water and Power Commission continues to represent the local interest and effort to protect the water supplies needed for the region in both the Eel and Russian River watersheds.
