The Board of Supervisors referred this issue to the General Government Standing Committee on January 26, 2021.                     

 

Summary of Referral

During the January 26, 2021 Board of Supervisors Meeting, Supervisor Mulheren suggested this item be referred to the General Government Standing Committee, to provide clarification to both staff and the public on how appointments are made to countywide Boards and Commissions. Appointments are made according to each individual Board or Commission’s set of bylaws and/or enacting documents. Attached is a quick reference sheet, providing insight into Clerk of the Board internal vetting processes for each individual Board, Committee or Commission. Also attached is a District-specific appointment quick reference guide, showing which seats must be endorsed by a District Supervisor in order to proceed with appointment.
