RECOMMENDED ACTION/MOTION:

Approve agreement with Brokaw Design in the amount of $95,000 for the design and engineering services to complete permit and construction documents for the Sanhedrin microwave repeater site building improvements at Big Signal Peak, effective upon full execution through December 31, 2022; and authorize chair to sign same.

PREVIOUS BOARD/BOARD COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
Approval of the 2019-2020 Budget including a Capital Improvement project for sealing and hardening microwave repeater sites at Sanhedrin and Spanish Mountains in the amount of $200,000 and additional funding at First Quarter of 2021 in the amount of 200,000.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Along with equipment improvements approved for the Microwave Radio system, the IT Master Plan, the Capital Improvement Plan and this Board have emphasized the need to upgrade the facilities and structures supporting the Microwave Radio antennas and equipment, specifically at the Sanhedrin site. This contract includes an evaluation of the existing forest service look-out building to determine if it can continue to reliably house this critical equipment well into the future, and provide design drawings to modernize or replace the building and facilities accordingly.

ALTERNATIVE ACTION/MOTION:
Provide direction to staff.
