An Amendment to the existing Conflict of Interest Code was approved in 2016.
Summary of Request:
This routine amendment makes necessary updates to bring MCOG procedures into full compliance, based on current guidance from the Fair Political Practices Commission. 1) Required “87200 Filers” (Board members, Alternates and County Counsel) are removed from Appendix A, so that only “Code Filers” (staff) remain listed. 2) “Place of Filing” Form 700 Statement of Financial Interest is amended so that only Code Filers must file statements with MCOG and 87200 Filers need only file with their County or City Clerks. (MCOG does not have official filing agency status with the FPPC.)
Alternative Action/Motion:
Do not approve Amendment to the Code and return to MCOG with direction.
