On June 3, 2003, pursuant to Resolution 03-120, the Mendocino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) entered into agreement # 03-310 with Solid Waste Systems Inc., to direct County Area Number Two Inland Curbside Solid Waste Collected under Franchise Agreement to the solid waste transfer station at 3151 Taylor Drive, Ukiah, CA, for three consecutive five year periods or until June 3, 2018.
Summary of Request:
The Mendocino County Board of Supervisors (BOS) agreement # 03-310 with Solid Waste Systems Inc., to direct County Area Number Two Inland Curbside Solid Waste Collected under Franchise Agreement to the solid waste transfer station at 3151 Taylor Drive, Ukiah, CA. expired on June 3, 2018. The waste stream has continued until the present as if the same agreement were still in place. The City of Ukiah (City), has in place a “Second Amended and Restated Transfer Station Agreement dated October 7, 2015, as amended (City “Transfer Station Agreement”). Mendocino County Department of Transportation (MCDoT) was informed on February 19, 2021, that the City was offering the same conditions to the County franchise haulers and self -haulers as the City now offers or would offer, if amended, to their franchise haulers and self -haulers until 2036. MCDoT recommends proceeding with the subject agreement to assure Solid Waste Disposal service.

Postpone or cancel approval of DOT Agreement No. 210014.
