SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The County of Mendocino, along with eight other counties and cities, accepted a mediator's proposal of $415 million to resolve the collective cities' and counties' North Bay Fires claims. The claim funds are intended for rebuilding and recovery from the Redwood Complex fire in 2017. Of the $415 million, $22,651,737 was allocated for Mendocino County.
County staff have prepared an extensive projects list that includes prevention, recovery, resiliency, and mitigation of past, current, and future disasters. Staff is seeking Board direction to fund existing Disaster Recovery Projects, supplement reserves that have not been funded, and/or review County projects and determine priority projects.
