Summary of Request:
North Coast Opportunities, Inc. (NCO), is the agency that administers the Mendocino Volunteer Program in accordance with County policy. NCO has been providing this service since July 2015.
In 2020, COVID-19 was declared a global pandemic. NCO’s volunteer program does not normally include the Disaster Worker Volunteer Network however, due to the pandemic it became evident that this service was required so that NCO could provide additional services to our local communities. Adding additional resources increases the costs associated with administering the program.
Human Resources is requesting approval of additional funds to the program specifically for disaster assistance and to extend the current Agreement though the end of Fiscal Year 21/22.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to Human Resources with further direction.
