SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
County Counsel currently contracts with a number of private investigative firms for the purposes of conducting independent personnel investigations. Recently, however, County Counsel and Human Resources have identified a need for an appropriate attorney-investigator to handle more complicated personnel matters. County Counsel has located an investigative law firm with expertise in personnel-related investigations and is asking the Board to contract for these services. County Counsel will process the invoices for services directly and request affected departments to reimburse County Counsel for the costs incurred.
