SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The Mendocino County Resource Conservation District (MCRCD) has partnered successfully with the County of Mendocino on a variety of natural resource projects over the last ten years. MCRCD currently holds seven contracts with the County and plays a key role in many County projects as well as obtaining grant funding for County projects. Since 2010, MCRCD has used an annual allocation of funds from the County to research and write grant applications which have secured over $13.6 million in funding for local resource conservation programs. Megan McClure, Executive Director of the MCRCD, will provide the Board of Supervisors with an informational presentation on the current activities of the MCRCD as well as planned activities and funding needs for Fiscal Year (FY) 2021-22. MCRCD will make their funding request at Budget Hearings in June. MCRCD's current FY 2020-21 contract is for $25,000. For FY 2021-22, they plan to request an additional $20,000 for a total of $45,000.
