Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

By Resolution Number (No.) 08-239 (December 9, 2008), the Board of Supervisors (BOS) approved and executed a Memorandum of Understanding, BOS Agreement No. 08-214/Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 080109, with Mendocino College, through their Redevelopment Agency (RDA) Funds, regarding the North State Street “Gateway Revitalization Project” for the cooperative repayment plan between the College and County, including the Ackerman Creek Bridge Replacement on North State Street. By Resolution No. 11-093 (June 14, 2011), the BOS approved BOS Agreement No. 11-056/ DOT Agreement No. 110002  with Quincy Engineering, Inc. (QEI), for professional services to complete the plans, specifications, and estimate for the replacement of Ackerman Creek Bridge on North State Street. By Resolution No. 15-154 (October 6, 2015), the BOS approved Amendment No. 3 with QEI for additional environmental studies. By Resolution No. 19-358 (October 1, 2019), the BOS approved Amendment No. 5 with QEI for right-of-way and utility delays.                     

 

Summary of Request

Mendocino County Department of Transportation will prepare and administer construction plans, specifications, estimates, and contract documents for DOT Contract No. 200093, for the replacement of the Ackerman Creek Bridge on North State Street, CR 104, milepost 0.97.  This project is for the construction of a new bridge on the same alignment, removal of the existing concrete and steel bridge, and streambed restoration. The total construction costs, including contingency, are estimated at $9,889,000, and the work is anticipated to span two construction seasons. The project is to be funded primarily through the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) Highway Bridge Program (HBP) with a local match funded through the College RDA funds and the Road Fund.
