Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:

By Resolution Number (No.) 20-016 (February 25, 2020), the Board approved Board of Supervisors (BOS) Agreement No. 20-014/Department of Transportation (DOT) Agreement No. 190028 with Wylatti Resource Management, Inc. for Leachate Monitoring and Hauling Services for Laytonville and Caspar Landfills.

Summary of Request

Landfill leachate is currently collected from the leachate storage system and disposed of at the local wastewater treatment plants by outside vendors.  More leachate has been generated this year than anticipated.  Amendment No. 2 to BOS Agreement No. 20-014/DOT Agreement No. 190028  increases the Agreement amount by $50,000, from $77,000 to a revised not-to-exceed amount of $127,000, to ensure adequate funds are available to continue the required services through the duration of the leachate hauling season.  Funds are available in Budget Unit (BU) 4511 (Landfill Closure) to cover the additional cost.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not approve Amendment No. 2 to BOS Agreement No. 20-014/DOT Agreement No. 190028 and discontinue leachate hauling by outside vendors.
