Summary of Request

The Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations (CRRSA) Act authorized aid to general aviation airports to assist with operational expenses during the COVID-19 public health emergency.  Little River Airport is eligible to receive $9,000 in assistance.  The funds can be used to cover eligible operational expenses during a four-year period beginning January 20, 2020.  Department of Transportation (DOT) has already submitted the application to the Federal Aviation Administration as they requested airport sponsors submit applications for assistance immediately to help expedite the distribution of funds.  DOT is requesting the Board ratify the grant application for assistance with operational expenses under the CRRSA Act and authorize the Director of Transportation to accept the grant and execute the grant agreement and sign any other necessary related documents on behalf of Mendocino County if awarded.

Alternative Action/Motion:

Do not ratify the application for CRRSA Act assistance and do not authorize the Director of Transportation to accept the grant.
