SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
For more than 50 years, the United States Small Business Administration (SBA) has celebrated small business week which recognizes the critical contributions of America's entrepreneurs and small business owners. More than half of Americans either own or work for a small business, and they create nearly two out of every three new jobs in the U.S. each year. This past year is unlike any that has come before. We are facing unique challenges together. However, American small businesses continue to play a central role in building a strong country, a better community, and they are prepared for any obstacles the future holds. It is requested that the Board adopt a Proclamation recognizing May 3 - May 7 as Small Business Week, to honor our small business heroes, and remind the residents of our community to support our small businesses by shopping locally.
