SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The California State Association of Counties (CSAC) Institute for Excellence in County Government is a professional, practical continuing education program for senior county staff and elected officials. Its goal is to expand capacity and capability of county elected officials and senior staff to provide extraordinary services to their communities. Mendocino County along with Lake County staff and elected officials were provided with an excellent opportunity to attend courses onsite in person in Mendocino County, provided by certified CSAC trainers.

In January of 2020 the courses began and then postponed in March of 2020 due to the declared COVID-19 pandemic.

In collaboration with Mendocino County, Lake County and CSAC courses resumed by Zoom webinars in September of 2020 with the final class completing in April of 2021.

Courses completed by Graduates: Leadership and Change, Reengineering County Business Practices, World Class Contracting, Contract Management and Procurement, Negotiations and Collaboration in Complex Environments, County Budgeting and Financial Planning, Mastering Social Media Basics, Slow Down to Speed Up: Managing Uncertainty, Collaboration: A Way through Crisis, Financing California Counties, and State Budget 101: What Counties Need to Know.
