Approve Agreement with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center in the amount of $139,697 to provide emergency shelter and resource services in Mendocino County, effective July 1, 2021 through June 30, 2022; authorize the Health and Human Services Agency Assistant Director/Social Services Director to sign any future amendments that do not increase the annual maximum amount; and authorize Chair to sign same.

SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Mendocino County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) currently contracts with Mendocino Coast Hospitality Center (MCHC) to provide shelter services and related resources to clients on the north coast, to address the needs of the HHSA General Assistance (GA) clients and all Mendocino County persons who are at risk of, or currently experiencing, homelessness. MCHC provides beds, meals, shower and laundry facilities, phone access, mail delivery, other amenities, outreach, and housing assistance to qualified individuals.

In Fiscal Year (FY) 2020-21, to date, MCHC has provided a total of 3,999 bed nights of shelter, for an average of 500 occupied beds per month. In terms of showers provided to individuals experiencing homelessness, 3,380 showers have been provided, for an average of 423 per month.
