The Board has adopted the proclamation of Library Card Sign-up Month in previous years.
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Since 1987, Library Card Sign-up Month has been held each September to mark the beginning of the school year. During the month, libraries nationwide unite together in a national effort to encourage residents of their service areas to sign-up for their own library card. For more information about how to sign-up for a library card, visit the Mendocino County Library in person or online at https://www.mendolibrary.org.
This year, we are encouraging parents, caregivers and students to obtain a free library card that will save them money while reaping rewards in academic achievement, cultural learning, and lifelong education. It is requested that the Board of Supervisors adopt a proclamation recognizing September as Library Card Sign-up Month in Mendocino County.
