Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
The Board approves fixed asset purchases as necessary throughout the year.
Summary of Request:
The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office needs an industrial washer for the Jail to replace a washer that is leaking and causing a safety hazard. There is water on the floor where inmates and staff are present, and electrical is located nearby. We are in a declared drought emergency, and the leak is wasting a lot of water. The cost of repair is almost as much as buying a new one. We only have one functioning washer. A second one is needed to meet the laundering needs of our inmate population.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
