Previous Board/Board Committee Actions:
March 23, 2021, Item 4(o), Agreement No. 21-048 covering services provided during FY 20-21.
Summary of Request:
Since May of 2020, Redwood Community Services (RCS) has been supporting the County in an effort to keep the community safe during the COVID-19 pandemic. The most recent Agreement between Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) and RCS for meal and medication delivery, transportation, telecommunication, and trash pickup services for those placed in insolation and/or quarantine services expired on June 30, 2021. The proposed retroactive Agreement extends these services from July 1, 2021, to June 30, 2022. RCS has the staff and the resources, along with multiple office locations spread throughout the County, to continue to assist the County with provision of these services.
Due to the unpredictable nature of the pandemic, HHSA staff could not foresee if/when these services should be renewed. Mid July 2021, staff decided that services do need to continue past the initial June 30, 2021, expiration date. HHSA therefore requests retroactive approval of the proposed Agreement.
Alternative Action/Motion:
Return to staff for alternative handling.
