SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
California Government Code ? 53069.8 allows a County Board of Supervisors to contract on behalf of the Sheriff to provide supplemental law enforcement services to private individuals and private entities in order to preserve the peace at special events or occurrences that happen on an occasional basis.
The Salmon Restoration Association of California required law enforcement services at their 50th Annual World's Largest Salmon Barbecue event on July 3, 2021. The Mendocino County Sheriff's Office provided the requested law enforcement services without a reduction to the normal and regular ongoing service that the County would otherwise provide.
Because the event occurred at the start of FY 2021-22, MCSO needed to compute the weighted hourly pay rate for a Deputy Sheriff Coroner II with data from the 2021-22 Auditor's Salary Projections. For that reason, this revenue agreement is being presented for retroactive Board consid...
