SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
Board of Supervisors approval is requested for the District Attorney's Office to purchase TRUNARC Handheld Narcotics Analyzer with funds from the DA Asset Forfeiture Fund Account. Increase DA 2070-82-3310 DA Asset Forfeiture Revenue $27,352.67 - source of funds DA Asset Forfeiture Fund 2110-760220. Increase DA 86-4370 Equipment $27,352.67 in order to purchase TRUNARC Handheld Narcotics Analyzer, a fixed asset; and addition of item to County's List of Fixed Assets.

Return to staff for further direction.
HOW DOES THIS ITEM SUPPORT THE GENERAL PLAN?
This product will be used to identify unknown chemicals, explosives, and chemical weapons, as well as narcotics such as fentanyl, carfentanil, and heroin directly from within the hazard zone. This device will provide immediate data to first responders and law enforcement to act quickly and responsively.
